Our Story
Founded in 2019 in Plantation, FL, WheelXL was born from a simple observation: buying wheels and tires online was harder than it needed to be—too complicated, too few options for popular vehicles, and not enough product detail to make a confident choice.
Our founders, Jan and Max, spent nearly two decades helping build the online wheels, tires, and accessories industry. Jan is a top online retail sales veteran and marketing leader who ran a leading wheels-and-tires site's sales team from 2006–2018. Max is an internet tech innovator who, back in 2006, built one of the first highly successful wheel–tire fitment systems for that same site. In 2019, their collaboration evolved into WheelXL.com—a "best-of-breed" platform that applies everything they learned (and then some) to elevate online wheel and tire shopping.
Since launch, we've focused on unprecedented catalog growth, the most precise fitment system we've built to date, and a research-backed UX that works beautifully on every device.
